Learning by Design Virtual Charter School is an accredited high school within the Haysville USD 261 school system. What makes LBD stand apart from other virtual schools is our commitment to building personal relationships with our students, whether that student is strictly virtual, virtual supported with regular on-site attendance, or a returning student seeking a flexible means of completing classes to earn a diploma. At Learning by Design, the “one-size-fits-all” way of educating students is replaced with a personalized learning plan for each student.

Our staff shares the belief that relationship is foundational to effective teaching and learning. One of our goals is to ensure that we build strong, collaborative relationships with students and their families. We believe that all students deserve a high-quality, purposeful, and rigorous curriculum, and that it must be presented in ways relevant to the student for the greatest learning to occur. We must provide for our students an environment that is responsive to them and that ultimately bears positive results.

We believe that every student deserves to be recognized and respected. We believe that each student can excel in ways unique to him or her and should have the opportunities to learn accordingly. Students are not simply numbers or test scores; each is created for a purpose, and we want to assist students in developing their skills, knowledge, and abilities to utilize what they know and can do to maximize their potential.

In addition to their classroom experiences, others have experience in ministry to youth and involvement with young people in activities outside the classroom environment. All are committed to students and have a deep compassion and care for the whole child.

We choose to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. We believe our service to them is greater than that of delivering information. We work to provide an educational environment that is personal and responsive to students and their families. We want to be part of the change that will make a difference for all time.
